step by step.

The Lean Iterator is a process where startups refine and validate their
ideas with real audiences, making the necessary adjustments
to ensure a sustainable business.

We’ve worked with 50+ startups, as well as these great companies:

.

Here’s how it works:

Our process differs from a traditional accelerator model. We focus on moving you rapidly through iterations of your idea, instead of trying to just make you grow up faster. Our program will coach you through lean startup methods to help you focus on the right things at the right time.

Ideation

The first phase of the process is identifying the problem that you’re trying to solve and researching what solutions might work. Focusing on the problem instead of the solution keeps you open to various possibilities which may serve your customer better. This phase takes about 2 weeks and costs R10,000 (which we may cover for you) that you can spend on support services and is the foundation of your idea. At the end, you’ll pitch to be able to move on to exploration.

Exploration

For the Exploration phase you will have raised R100k and will use it to focus on your market and business model. We’ll expand on the data gathered during the Ideation phase and use that to put together a business model. A working prototype will be built to test, validate and gain insights from your audience and we’ll start to identify what you’d need to fully launch in the market or get more customers.

Creation

If you make it this far, you’ll have raised R1 million and will use it to launch your business. You should have a really good idea of what your solution needs and ideally have some customers lined up already. This phase takes all the previous learnings and data, and condenses them into the first public launch. It should get you at least 6 months of building and iterating, and you’ll be well on your way to building something amazing.

Why Startups
Fail

We feel these are avoidable:

Taking inappropriate funding.

Building product without customers / market fit.

Struggling hiring / managing devs and creatives.

Not knowing when to build what.

What Lean
Iterator Fixes

We help with:

Access to appropriate funding for first $100k.

Customer development > customer discovery, validation & creation.

Having access to great product dev teams.

Designing iterations for learning AKA killing assumptions.
